New Brunswick establishes anti-racism office to combat systemic discrimination

New Brunswick has taken a decisive step forward in addressing systemic racism with the creation of a dedicated anti-racism office. Minister Jean-Claude D'Amours announced the initiative as part of the province's response to the commissioner's final report on systemic racism. The office, housed within Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, will focus on dismantling barriers through policy reform and community partnerships. Progress has already begun on 59 percent of the report's 86 recommendations, with plans to initiate another 19 percent. A new website will track implementation efforts, ensuring transparency and accountability as the province works toward a more inclusive future.
