Alberta tourism hits record $15.2 billion in visitor spending for 2025

Alberta’s tourism sector posted its strongest year on record in 2025, with visitor spending reaching $15.2 billion. This marks a six percent increase from the previous year, outpacing the national growth average by nearly double. The province saw a 4% rise in international visitors, while the rest of Canada experienced a 5% drop. Tourism now supports over 86,000 full-time jobs across Alberta, with employment in the sector growing by seven percent. Expanded air routes to Mexico, South Korea, and Japan have strengthened Alberta’s position as a leading destination for authentic travel experiences.
