Conservatives maintain a solid lead on immigration issues despite rising Liberal popularity

A new Abacus Data poll shows that the Conservative Party maintains a strong advantage over the Liberals on immigration policy. Sixty percent of Canadians believe the Conservatives are the best party to handle immigration matters. By contrast, only 19 percent of respondents chose the Liberal Government under Prime Minister Mark Carney. This finding stands out because the Liberals have successfully opened a 12-point national lead on other major issues. While voters view the ruling party as a stabilizing force against global economic volatility, the immigration sector remains a key political vulnerability for the current administration.
