According to the newly released 2025 Henley Passport Index, Canada's passport has dropped to ninth place globally, providing visa-free access to 183 destinations, down from 188 in January this year. Despite this decline, attributed to reduced visa-free agreements and heightened global competition from nations such as Singapore, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, the Canadian passport continues to outperform its American counterpart, which has fallen to 12th place with access to only 180 destinations. This marks the first time in two decades the U.S. passport has ranked outside the top ten.
