Labour Minister Mike Goosney confirmed that Newfoundland and Labrador's minimum wage will climb by $0.35 to $16.35 per hour on April 1, 2026. The overtime rate will also increase to $24.53 per hour. This annual adjustment follows the province's Labour Standards Regulations, which tie minimum wage changes to the national Consumer Price Index. The move supports the government's affordability agenda and aims to help workers cope with rising living costs while giving employers clarity for business planning. Minister Goosney emphasized the importance of ongoing discussions with workers, employers, and stakeholders to address concerns and develop practical solutions for residents and businesses across the province.
